Washington State DRS PERS Retirement Plan
Eligible Renton Housing Authority employees participate in the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS) Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS), a pension program designed to support long term financial security in retirement. PERS provides a lifetime monthly benefit based on your years of service and earnings, helping you plan confidently for the future.
Employees and Renton Housing Authority contribute to the plan in accordance with state requirements. PERS also offers retirement planning tools, disability retirement options, and survivor benefits.
Eligible employees may participate in PERS Plan 2 or PERS Plan 3, depending on employment classification and election options available at the time of hire. New employees generally have 90 days to choose between plans; if no selection is made, enrollment defaults to Plan 2.
And this is just the beginning where our benefits start!
These benefits reflect RHA’s commitment to investing in our employees by providing meaningful support and peace of mind—so you can focus on the important work you do every day serving the Renton community.
